The cathedral entry or tri-level home is a flexible design and ideally suited for a level to moderately sloping site. Because the entrance is positioned mid-way between the basement and the main floor, the grade can sope to the rear, up or down, approximately four feet, allowing grade level access at the rear from either the basement of the main floor, depending on the direction of the slope.
It has the advantage of a straight entry, but requires less foundation work. All the living areas are situated on the upper floor level, providing for convenient living. The basement ahs a generous amount of windows, and can be easily developed in the future.
